How to do a move-in or move-out check
Updated
On the house page, open Move-in and move-out, start a check, then go room by room with a condition, notes and photos. Print it or save it as a PDF.
Steps
- On Home, tap the house name at the top, then tap Move-in and move-out.
- Under Start a check, pick Move-in check, Move-out check or Condition check. If you've done a check before, you can pick Rooms to reuse its rooms.
- Tap Start (or Start your free move-in check on the free plan). You get a list of standard rooms.
- For each room, pick its condition: good, fair or damaged. Add Notes and tap Save.
- Tap Add photos in each room to take dated photos.
- To add a room, type it in Add a room and tap Add room. To drop one, tap Remove room.
- When you're finished, tap Mark done. Tap Reopen to change it later.
- Tap Print or save as PDF to get a record you can send your landlord.
Good to know
- Only you can see your checks and their photos. Not even the house owner can open them.
- Each house gets its first move-in check free, photos included, on any plan. The house only gets one free check, so it belongs to whoever starts it first.
- Move-out checks and any more checks need Premium. A check you made stays yours to read, print and delete even without Premium. Editing it needs Premium again, unless it's the free one.
- To delete a check and all its photos, tap Delete this check.
