Delete your account

1. Sign in to hausync at www.hausync.com or in the app.
2. Open More, then Delete account.
3. Enter your password and tap Delete my account. It happens right away.

If you own a house that other people still live in, make someone else an owner first, or remove the other members. hausync asks you to do this before it deletes anything.

Can't sign in? Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.

What is deleted

• Your name, email address and password. Your account can't be recovered or signed back in to.
• Every sign-in session, push notification subscription and reminder setting.
• Any house where you are the only member, with everything in it: chat, lists, chores, expenses, bills, calendar, tickets, lease, inspections, belongings and photos.

What is kept

• In a house that other people still use, what you already shared with them stays, shown as "Deleted member": messages, expenses and settle-ups (their balances depend on them), and tickets, events and photos you added. You can delete these yourself before you go (see below).
• If your house paid for a plan, Stripe keeps its own payment records under Stripe's privacy policy. We never had your card number.

How long

Deletion happens at once. Copies in our nightly backups age out within 14 days.

Delete some of your data, keep your account

Sign in, then delete any of these yourself. Each one asks before it deletes.

• A chat message you sent: press and hold it, then Delete.
• An expense or a calendar event: open it, tap Edit, then Remove.
• A list item: tap it, then Delete. Whole lists can be archived.
• A belonging or an inspection: open it, then Remove.
• A photo you uploaded: tap Remove under it.
• A payment handle (Venmo, PayPal and so on): More, then "How housemates pay you", then Remove.
• Push notifications: More, then Reminders, and turn them off.

Deleted items are gone at once, and out of our nightly backups within 14 days.
